Celebrations!

Baby Dedication - Every January parents are given the opportunity to publicly state their desire to raise their child knowing and loving God.  Dedication is different than christening, baptism, or sprinkling.  Rather than viewing Baby Dedication as a salvation ceremony, think of it as a parent commitment.  Parents state their desire to raise their child in a godly home, and families are affirmed and celebrated by the congregation.

Movin' On Up - Any parent would agree, children grow up way too fast!  As your child grows up in the ministries at Sarasota Christian Church, we want their transition to be smooth...and we want to help you celebrate their growth.  In August of each year, we recognize children who are entering Kindergarten, Middle School, High School, or College.  Students and families are prayed over and presented with a small gift to help them grow in their faith.

Adoption Recognition - "Thus we have been set free to experience our rightful heritage.  You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, "Papa! Father!" Doesn't that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child?  And if you are a child, you're also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance."    -Galatians 4.4
As Christians, the Bible says that we are all adopted by God.  This is something worth celebrating!  Many families at SCC have made special additions to their own earthly families by adopting children.  We believe that is also worth celebration!  During November, we celebrate National Adoption Month and the families in our church who have made children a part of their forever family.
